The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset has won Rotary District 5000’s Club of the Year award for the second consecutive year! The award was presented to the club at this year’s district conference, which was held May 19-21 at the Sheraton Resort, Kaanapali.

The award recognizes the club’s outstanding achievements in Rotary’s areas of service. “The Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset is honored to receive this award for the second year in a row,” said interim president Joanne Laird. “Our members give freely of their time and talents because they are proud to serve the West Maui community,” she added. “Their dedication truly demonstrates the Rotary motto of “service above self.”

In the small club category, Lahaina Sunset also won first place awards for public image, vocational, club and international service. The club earned first runner up awards for community and youth service.

“We want to express our gratitude to the club’s committed and enthusiastic members as well as the volunteers and community partners who give Lahaina Sunset an opportunity to make a difference,” said Laird.
