Founder of Pa`upena Community Development to be speaker at Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset meeting
Kekoa Enomoto, the chair and founder of the board of the Pa`upena Community Development Program will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset ‘s meeting at 5:30 pm on Tuesday April 4, 2023.  The meeting will be held at the Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant at the Royal Lahaina Resort.  
 
“Refirement in Action” will showcase this organization’s program will describe the community involvement of a 12-year “refiree” vis-à-vis retiree and will feature programs meeting the needs of Hawaiian Homes beneficiaries in Maui County.  Kekoa Enomoto serves as co-founding chairwoman of the board of the nonprofit Pa`upena Community Development Inc. The Kamehameha Schools graduate holds a master of journalism degree from the University of California at Berkeley. She is a retired 30-year journalist at the former Honolulu Star Bulletin and The Maui News where she served as a copy editor, staff writer and columnist. She is also a chant-and-hula practitioner, and recently won a silver medal at the 2022 outrigger World Sprints in Windsor, England.
