Rotary interclub event features induction of two new members
Thirty-five members and friends of the Rotary Clubs of Lahaina, Lahaina Sunrise, and Lahaina Sunset recently gathered at the Maui Kuia Estate Chocolate Factory rooftop venue to meet Rotary District 5000 Governor Benson Medina. After a Hawaiian blessing and dinner catered by Penne Pasta, Medina discussed how Hawaiian values align with Rotary’s 4-Way Test. He invited participants to share why they joined Rotary and announced the formation of a Rotary Disaster Recovery Committee. This committee is being established to allow Rotary to respond to local disasters such as the Kona Low and Lala, alongside first responder organizations.
The presentation concluded with the induction of two new Rotary members. Captain Shawn Keoho joined the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunrise, sponsored by Past President Leah Harbottle. Gina Biondi joined the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset, sponsored by member Deborah Moore.
