‘THE WALL THAT HEALS” IS THE TOPIC AT THE ROTARY CLUB OF LAHAINA SUNSET MEETING ON 12/5/23
On Tuesday, December 5, 2023, Janna Hoehn will be the speaker at the meeting of the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset. Hoehn is the President of the Maui County Veterans’ Council. This organization is bringing “The Wall That Heals” to Maui in February 2024. This unique exhibit includes a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial along with a mobile Education Center. The traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces in the Vietnam War, and it bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
Janna Hoehn began work on the “Faces Never Forgotten” project for Maui,Hawaii 14 years ago. Since then, she moved on to finding photos for Hawaii, California, the West Coast and across the United States. According to Hoehn: “Putting a face with a name changes the whole dynamic of the Wall, it keeps our Fallen Heroes memories alive and will honor them, our heroes stories and sacrifice will never be forgotten.” Hoehn will share her story and details of the “The Wall That Heals” coming to Maui.
